Beyond the Decibels

A Self-Exploration of London's Sound Pollution

Data

bar graph

LAeq - As presented here, the journey which had the highest LAeq was Iñaki at 72dB, and the person with the lowest LAeq from their journey was Molly at 64.6dB. This could have been caused by the difference in transportation between the two, as Inaki used the bus, and Molly used the overground.

max

Max sound level - The maximum sound level which was reached out of our journeys was shown in Iñaki's journey at 101dB,and the lowest maximum sound level which was reached was shown in Molly's journey at 89.4dB.

scatter

As shown, the scatter graph shows a slight correlation with all 6 team members as their LAeq levels remain between 64-70dB, Molly's being the lowest at 64.6dB, and Inaki's being the highest at 72dB. It also displays that Sam's and Inaki's journey time are very similar, making their LAeq levels not be that far off apart. The LAeq levels from both Pedro and Molly remain the lowest at 64.6dB and 69.4dB, showing a correlation in their LAeq levels relating to their mode of transportation, as they both take the underground on their journeys.
